The museum was created from the initiative of Pere Permanyer, Montesa's founder, who always thought that a museum would be the best way to transmit to the next generations the history of a period and the work in which many people have participated. The museum gather the more representative motorcycles build by Montesa together with documents, catalogs and pictures illustrating the history of the catalan brand during its 50 years of life.

Today the 'Museu Pere Permanyer' is located in 'Museu de la Ciència i de la Tècnica de Catalunya' in Terrassa, near Barcelona, and you can find all the information related at http://www.mnactec.cat
